What is a Health Check?
Everyone wants their SQL Server to run faster. When SQL is running fast, it means that your applications load quicker. It means that you don’t need to spend large capital costs on a new server or an expensive SAN upgrade. To get there, you need a process to discover performance opportunities and performance bottlenecks. This is where the health check comes in.
Where’s the Pain?
My SQL Server health check is a proven process where I talk with you and your staff, collect data from your server and look at your goals. Based on how your database environment is set-up, I will look for where your bottlenecks are and look into what is causing them. Based on this, I will provide you with a report about where I see the easiest areas for improvement, as well as recommended settings to get the most out of your servers.
Plan, Do, Check
Based on the results of the report, we can start implementing the recommendations and see that they are performing as expected. As we move down the list of performance opportunities, we look at if the results meet the goals you’ve laid out and what additional work is needed to help you reach your goals.
